Once again, for members only, we have the ‘Fuchsia challenge’. Hardy fuchsia plants will be available from LDGA in the spring. We would like you to grow them on and show them in class 30. A £1.00 contribution is required for the plant but entry to the class is free.

If you like converting old or discarded items into something new then take a look at class 73 which was introduced in 2017. As usual, for members only we have the ‘fuchsia challenge’.
Running throughout the afternoon there will be a plant sale, refreshments and raffle. There will also be a beekeeping talk by Gary Hammond and a patchwork demonstration by Heather Wadsworth.
The mystery seed challenge for the Tapps Trophy will be in the autumn.

How to enter – non-members welcome
First read the show rules and the showing instructions. Fill out the entry form, listing all the classes that you wish to enter and return it along with your entry fees to Paul Heydon, LDGA Show Secretary.
Ways to submit your entry:
- at the monthly evening meetings (3rd Thursday)
- at the monthly coffee mornings (1st Wednesday)
- at the Trading Store during normal opening times
- at 129 Lonsdale Road, Stevenage, Herts. SG1 5DF

- by calling 01438 727422 to speak to Paul

You never know you could be going home with the Newcomers Shield
Do you have children or grandchildren?
If they are of primary school age why not encourage them to enter some of our children’s classes, these include: cake decorating, making paper flowers and taking photos. The Merit Shield is awarded to the youngster with the most points in the children’s classes. Entry is free.

New for this year, we focus on beekeeping, North Herts Beekeepers will give a talk all about bees, they will also have a display including some live bees and nature permitting, there will be some honey for sale. The talk starts at around 3:15pm
Raffle tickets will be on sale all afternoon with some great prizes up for grabs, only £1 a strip. Draw takes place at around 4.30pm
Tea, coffee and homemade cake will be available all afternoon
LDGA members and committee will be on hand to take your garden related questions. If we don’t know the answer we will find it out.
Plants of all kinds will be on sale throughout afternoon under the LDGA gazebo outside the church hall
