‘Fuchsia Challenge’

A young fuchsia
Once again, for members only, we have the ‘Fuchsia challenge’. Hardy fuchsia plants will be available from LDGA in the spring. We would like you to grow them on and show them in class 30. A £1.00 contribution is required for the plant but entry to the class is free.

If you like converting old or discarded items into something new then class 73 is for you. If you like painting or drawing, check out our more relaxed Art section.
As usual we have the ‘fuchsia challenge’ for members only plus the usual cookery demonstrations, plant sale, refreshments and raffle. The mystery seed challenge for the Tapps Trophy will this year be in the autumn.

How to enter – non-members welcome

First read the show rules and the showing instructions. Fill out the entry form, listing all the classes that you wish to enter and return it along with your entry fees to Paul Heydon, LDGA Show Secretary.

Do you have children or grandchildren?

If they are of primary school age why not encourage them to enter some of our children’s classes, these include: cake decorating, making paper flowers and taking photos. The Merit Shield is awarded to the youngster with the most points in the children’s classes. Entry is free.

Cookery Demos

cookery demoReturning again this year, cookery demonstrations by Andrew Wakeford from West Herts College. Watch how he creates a couple of seasonal dishes then try them afterwards. Demos take place around 2:30pm and 3:15pm


Raffle ticketsRaffle tickets will be on sale all afternoon with some great prizes up for grabs, only £1 a strip. Draw takes place at around 4.30pm


refreshmentsTea, coffee and homemade cake will be available all afternoon

Garden Advice

Question markLDGA members and committee will be on hand to take your garden related questions. If we don’t know the answer we will find it out.

Plant Sale

plant salePlants of all kinds will be on sale throughout afternoon under the LDGA gazebo outside the church hall
